Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Laboratory Technologist in Hematology, part time, days. Under supervision, you will perform clinical laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis and treatment, analyze results, and ensure accuracy.

You will maintain quality control, document actions, and communicate findings clearly to the team. Candidates should have a BS in Medical Technology or related field with internship or one year supervised clinical laboratory experience, NYS license or eligibility,

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology with internship or BS in related discipline plus 1 year supervised clinical lab experience.
• NYS Education Department Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or Eligible.
• Analytical skills and mathematical capability for QC calculations.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems and computer fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests across hematology and other sections.
• Analyze and interpret results and ensure accuracy before reporting.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot instruments as needed.
• Monitor reagent and supply inventory and notify supervisor of needs.
• Document quality control and corrective actions when QC fails.
• Communicate results clearly to appropriate personnel and collaborate with team.
