Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk seeks a Laboratory Technologist - Hematology on a Per Diem basis. Under supervision, perform hematology tests, interpret results, and ensure accuracy. Implement QC and document corrective actions according to protocol.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in Medical Technology with internship or related field plus NYS CLT license or eligible. Per diem role with per diem scheduling and variable daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology with clinical internship or related discipline with 1 year supervised clinical lab experience.
• NYS Education Department Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or eligible.
• Analytical skills necessary to analyze data and perform calculations.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests in hematology and related sections to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Analyze and interpret test results; repeat tests as needed and report abnormalities.
• Maintain quality control and document results and corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and follow laboratory procedures accurately.
• Maintain inventory and organize work for smooth handoffs.
