Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform and verify tests, report results to pathologists and clinicians, and ensure accuracy and timeliness across the lab workflow.

You will prep specimens, operate automated instruments, document QC, assist with maintenance, and participate in continuing education to stay current with advances in laboratory medicine. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science required.
• ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent accreditation or letter of Technologist eligibility from ASCP required.
• Non-certified applicants must successfully acquire certification within 12 months of hire or promotion.
• Experience with computers required, including web based applications and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for examination and performs complex tests per procedures.
• Maintains instrument QC, calibration, maintenance, and inventory per lab protocols.
• Evaluates test results and reports to providers according to policies.
• Documents results in LIS and analyzes QA/QI data.
