Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science required.
• ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent.
• Non-certified applicants must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
• Experience with computers including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory safety and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for examination and performs complex tests using automated equipment.
• Performs start-up, quality control, calibration and troubleshooting on instruments.
• Conducts routine testing, prepares specimens, and evaluates results.
• Enters results into LIS and reports urgent findings to providers.
• Participates in continuing education and competency assessments.
• Assists in evaluating new methods, procedures, and SOPs under leadership.
• Adheres to laboratory safety and infection control policies.
• Responds to client questions and coordinates with staff to ensure satisfaction.
• Helps train staff and manage multiple priorities.
