Oak Hills Church in San Antonio is seeking a part-time IT Technician to provide Tier 1 hardware and software support for desktops, laptops, and network connectivity. You will guide users through BYOD migrations and help keep workstations, peripherals, and accounts configured.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides Tier 1 user support to correct hardware and software problems (desktops, laptops, and network connectivity).
• Guides end users through migrating their mobile devices into BYOD infrastructure.
• Troubleshoots and resolves hardware/software issues.
• Maintains help desk and support tracking records and follows up on open tickets.
• Configures and sets up desktop computers, peripherals, and accounts.
• Installs workstations and handles moves of PCs, telephones, Kiosks, etc.
• Assists with database cleanup.
• Assists with classroom system maintenance.
• Attends staff meetings, trainings, and events; supports policy changes and programs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides Tier 1 user support to correct hardware and software technical problems (desktops, laptops, and network connectivity).

• Attends assigned staff meetings, trainings, and events; solicits and relays information, participates in problem solving, and provides recommendations for policy changes and program development.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
• Two (2) years of experience in a PC and MAC environment.
• A+ certification (or must complete within 180 days of employment).

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of Desktop Operating Systems, Active Directory, Network, and Security.
• Knowledge of basic hardware and software products.
• Knowledge of Windows and MacOS Operating Systems linking various devices, printers, computers, laptops and tablets to network systems.
• Knowledge of networking, topologies, and protocols.
• Knowledge of ticket resolution programs.
• Knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software problems.
• Ability to show grace and patience in all that you do.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means.
• Ability to perform all the physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements of the position including decision making.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Occasional lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
