Job summary

Job description

This position contributes to the mission of Oak Hills Church (OHC) to be disciples who make disciples by guiding all people to follow Jesus moment by moment. The staff member is responsible for operating consoles for ministry services at various events and for maintaining healthy relationships with staff and volunteers.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITES
  • Operates audio console, lighting board and/or ProPresenter for ministry events throughout the campus.
  • Programs media for events and services as needed.
  • Coordinates with Production Coordinator on event and service details and flow.
  • Regulates volume levels to maintain targeted volume levels for designated rooms.
  • Works with ministries to ensure AVL needs at events and services.
  • Assists instrumentalists and vocalists as they plug-in and prepare for rehearsals, services, or events, including setting good personal mixes for in-ear monitors.
  • Keep the workstation organized.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience with audio concepts and signal flow, digital mixing and processing technique or related experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience with lighting and live video production.
  • Experience can substitute for education.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of Planning Center Online and music software.
  • Knowledge of signal flow in audio systems.
  • Knowledge of how to troubleshoot and solve audio problems.
  • Knowledge of how to EQ correction to correct or enhance sounds.
  • Ability to understand and operate digital audio consoles.
  • Ability to understand and operate lighting consoles and software.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, follow direction with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with ministry volunteers.
  • Ability to perform all the physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements of the position including decision making.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Occasional lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
