This position contributes to the mission of Oak Hills Church (OHC) to be disciples who make disciples by guiding all people to follow Jesus moment by moment. The staff member is responsible for supervising all building attendants to ensure the buildings are presentable, serviceable, and prepared for each event and service.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITES

Oversees and provides direct supervision of Facilities team. Leads the staff team through stand-up meetings, prayer, one-on-ones, goal setting, development, training, and evaluation. Cultivates a culture of Christlikeness and disciple making.

Prepares and assigns the daily work schedules to the team. Ensures buildings and rooms are service ready and clean. Ensures events are ready as requested for seating arrangements, refreshments, equipment, and other special needs.

Performs daily inspections and gives constructive performance feedback to staff members to improve staff efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance.

Prepares weekly team schedules.

Trains and instructs staff on tasks and safety standards.

Ensures personnel have the equipment and supplies necessary to perform their job. Issues supplies as needed. Monitors employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies.

Maintains open lines of communication between Building Maintenance Manager, Facilities Team Lead, Operations Assistant (Plant), and Building Attendants.

Addresses complaints and resolves problems. Escalates to supervisor’s attention as needed.

Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Reports accidents and incidents immediately.

Ensures all repair and maintenance requests are submitted in a timely manner.

Plans and executes a deep cleaning schedule as event needs permit.

Prepares for all inspections by governing agencies in reference to the health and welfare of the facility (i.e., pre-school, commercial kitchen and all food prep areas).

Attends assigned staff meetings, trainings, and events; solicits and relays information, participates in problem solving, and provides recommendations for policy changes and program development.

Performs duties and responsibilities of Building Attendant working alongside staff on the floor, remaining visible and engaged during daily operations and events. Assist with cleaning and setting up activities as needed and provide hands-on support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.

Bilingual speaking ability preferred (English/Spanish).

Two (2) years lead supervisory experience in building maintenance, custodial work or related field.

Current Texas driver’s license (Incumbents with out-of-state license must attain Texas license within six (6) months of employment).

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods, equipment and procedures.

Knowledge of basic use and maintenance of cleaning equipment.

Knowledge of Word, Excel and similar software programs.

Ability to train, develop and manage personnel staff.

Ability to work in a faced-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Ability to work with occasional flexibility in schedule and provide coverage as needed.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, members and ministry volunteers.

Ability to build and promote a team culture through relational collaboration and motivating team members.

Ability to perform all the physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements of the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Constantly lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate radio communication devises and basic office equipment. Constantly required to stand, walk, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, lift from floor, and use hand and finger dexterity. Frequently required to reach above and below shoulder level, lift bulky items, and climb stairs. Occasionally an employee will be required to balance and climb ladders. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. Work schedule may vary depending on needs.
