Tessera is seeking a dedicated Heavy Truck Driver to serve military and civilian sites, delivering sanitation services with a CDL A and Hazmat endorsements. You will navigate Joint Base Lewis-McChord, ensure safe, compliant operations, and maintain detailed logs and records.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years in sanitation or commercial driving
• Familiarity with military installations preferred
• Map reading using grid coordinates, independent work ethic, customer service
• Must qualify for Red Badge Security Clearance for PSNS/Bangor
• Must be eligible for FMCSA Clearinghouse registration and compliance

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a tanker truck to deliver, set up, and retrieve portable sanitation units using map-based grid coordinates
• Sanitize and maintain portable latrines and sinks, including pumping effluent and replenishing supplies
• Perform minor truck maintenance and maintain vehicle service logs
• Maintain service records for sanitation units and conduct light repairs as needed
• Safely dispose of effluent at designated disposal sites in compliance with environmental and hazmat regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers, ensuring professional service delivery
• Navigate Joint Base Lewis-McChord and other military installations with precision and familiarity

Typical Duties

Physical Requirements

• Employees must have the ability to meet the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.

Requirements

• FMCSA Requirements: Must comply with Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) standards for Class A CDL and Hazmat endorsements.
• Hazmat Endorsement: Requires passing a written knowledge test and TSA background check for transporting hazardous materials.
• Clearinghouse Compliance: Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and maintain a clean record per state and federal guidelines.
• A valid CDL Class A with Tanker Endorsement is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance company.
• A Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated pre-employment medical examination and drug screening are required.
• Candidates must meet federal guidelines to be considered for this position.
