Job summary

Tessera is hiring a Part-time Janitor for Keyport, Washington. The role is non-exempt, day shift (6am–2:30pm), and paid at $22.61 per hour. Duties include cleaning restrooms, sweeping, and maintaining high-traffic areas while following safety procedures and contract standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow industrial safety guidelines and promote a safe workplace culture at all worksites.
• Communicate with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies per contract standards.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust offices, halls, and high-traffic areas.
• Trash and recycle from lunchrooms, restrooms, and offices daily.
• Restock supplies daily.
• Clean portable showers and maintain cleanliness per procedures.
• Maintain janitor lockers and ensure good housekeeping daily.
• Operate wet/dry vacuum as scheduled.
• Change light bulbs as directed and secure areas after cleaning.

Typical Duties

• Follow industrial safety guidelines, apply safety training, and promote a safe workplace culture at all worksites.
• Communicate with customers – always be courteous and communicate professionally when talking with customers.
• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and replenish supplies in accordance with contract standards; follow cross‑contamination procedures.
• Sweep, wet/dry mop, vacuum, and dust offices, halls, and high traffic areas, door entries, stairwells, building entrances/exits, etc. in accordance with contract requirements, standards, and schedule.
• Trashing – collect and remove trash and recyclables from lunchrooms, coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker areas, and office spaces in accordance with contract requirements, standards, and schedule.
• Restocking supplies – restock supplies daily.
• Cleaning portable showers – clean all shower stalls, damp wipe for dust, restock supplies, mop floors following cross‑contamination procedures.
• Maintaining janitor lockers (J-lockers) – must practice good housekeeping in accordance with EM385‑1‑1 requirements by cleaning and organizing J-lockers daily. Clean and rinse all equipment before storing.
• Wet/dry vacuum – operate wet/dry vacuum for each area according to the schedule.
• May change light bulbs as directed. Lock doors after cleaning.
• All Other Duties as Assigned*

Qualifications

• Prior Janitorial experience is preferred.

Requirements

• A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
• Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID‑compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
• A background check and E‑Verify will be conducted for this position.
