The position is onsite in Norfolk, VA and may require extended hours and limited travel as needed. Strong knowledge of heavy fabrication processes and project governance is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in shipyard operations, focusing on commercial/government steel fabrication.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with contract compliance and project budgeting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage new heavy steel fabrication projects for commercial and government clients from planning through execution to completion.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to execute activities per client requirements and industry standards.
• Approve time charges and material expenditures within spending limits and modify subcontract purchase orders as needed to reflect actual costs.
• Represent the company in discussions with customers regarding schedule and support change orders for schedule impact when warranted.
