Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking a Shop Technician in an onsite role to perform repairs and rebuilds on heavy mining equipment. You will inspect, replace, and assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and powertrain components while following safety and quality standards.

The position requires 2+ years in heavy equipment repair and a strong mechanical background. Relocation support is offered and you will work in a modern shop environment with ongoing training and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair, diesel mechanics, maintenance, or related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment, interpret technical documentation, and complete safe, high-quality repairs.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and overtime as operational needs require.

Responsibilities

• Perform shop repairs, maintenance, and rebuilds on heavy mining equipment and components.
• Remove, inspect, repair, reassemble, and install mechanical, hydraulic, and powertrain components.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and component failures using diagnostic tools.
• Perform failure analysis, testing, and adjustments to ensure repairs meet specifications.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.
• Follow all shop safety, JSA, contamination-control, and HAZMAT requirements.
• Accurately document repairs, parts used, inspection findings, and additional work required.
