Job summary

Hawthorne Cat is seeking a Service Maintenance Technician to inspect, service, and repair construction machinery and generator equipment. The role includes inspecting incoming and outgoing units, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting fuel and DEF usage.

Training and growth opportunities are available within rentals, with tools supplied by the company. Ideal candidates have at least one year of heavy equipment or diesel experience, a valid California Class C license, and strong

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of heavy equipment/diesel experience.
• May be enrolled in heavy equipment/diesel program.
• Certification or degree from accredited trade program strongly preferred.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills.
• Experience using laptops, tablets, smartphones, and apps.
• Must have a valid California Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Determines condition of equipment by performing inspections of incoming and outgoing equipment, including visual, safety, and operation checks.
• Completes reports by logging fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) usage as needed.
• Performs regular service and preventive maintenance to keep equipment safe and operable.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction.
• Keeps knowledge of new models up to date to support maintenance.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment by following procedures and rules.
• Cares for shop tools, equipment, and work areas; uses provided tools responsibly.
