Job summary

Hawthorne Cat in California seeks a Service Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance under supervision. Training and tools provided, with opportunities for growth within a long‑standing equipment services company.

You will inspect and service heavy equipment, maintain shop safety, and support customers by applying strong communication and servicing skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years experience with heavy equipment/diesel preferred.
• Trade school certification helpful.
• Proficient with basic electronic devices (laptops/tablets/smartphones).
• Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Operate wash rack steam cleaner and high-pressure washer to clean equipment.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and comply with procedures and regulations.
• Perform maintenance services and minor repairs per manufacturers’ instructions.
• Inspect equipment before and after use and report condition.
• Conduct regular service and preventive maintenance to ensure safe operation.
• Develop positive relationships with customers and document information as required.
• Keep product knowledge up to date on new models.
