Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections and handle equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader to transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil.

Responsibilities include monitoring waste quality, maintaining equipment readiness, and completing reports.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Ability to adhere to safety policies and report hazards.
• Professional, courteous and cooperative with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment per policy.
• Safely operate heavy equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader).
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure operational readiness of equipment.
• Complete equipment reports and coordinate with Maintenance Shop for repairs.
