Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) seeks a motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to support Army equipment turn-in operations at JBLM, WA. You will operate forklifts, loaders, cranes, and other heavy equipment, ensuring safe loading, movement, and documentation in a contractor-managed site.

The role requires 2–4 years of experience, Army regulatory familiarity, and a strong safety record. Proficiency with MS Office and the ability to obtain required licenses, CAC, and background checks are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant work experience may be substituted.
• 2–4 years of heavy equipment operation experience (military or contractor environment preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Army OF 346 license required (or ability to obtain).
• Forklift/MHE certification preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance; real ID required; CAC background eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (forklifts 4K–10K, RTCH, ATLAS, Kalmar), loaders, cranes, and rough-terrain vehicles.
• Move vehicles, containers, and materiel between staging, inspection, and storage areas.
• Load/unload trucks and containers following Army and DOT safety standards.
• Assist mass turn-in events to process large volumes of equipment.
• Perform PMCS and report deficiencies; coordinate repairs per TMs.
