Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support Army equipment turn-in operations. You will operate forklifts, loaders, cranes, and other MHE, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance at contractor-managed sites.

You will maintain PMCS, prepare movement logs, and coordinate with Supply Technicians and drivers to ensure timely, compliant movement of vehicles and materiel.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; experience may substitute.
• 2–4 years operating heavy equipment in military or contractor settings.
• Familiarity with Army equipment turn-in or SSA operations desirable.
• Army safety and supply regs: AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1.
• Army maintenance standards: AR 750-1, DA PAM 750-8.
• Operation and PMCS of forklifts, loaders, and rough-terrain MHE.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Forklift/MHE certification preferred; Army OF 346 license required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, cranes, and RTCHs.
• Move vehicles and materiel between staging, inspection, and storage areas.
• Load/unload to comply with Army and DOT security standards.
• Assist with mass turn-in events and process large equipment volumes.
• Perform PMCS and report deficiencies; maintain logs and records.
• Ensure safety regulations and company procedures are followed.
• Coordinate with Supply Technicians, Coordinators and drivers.
• Support staging, inspection, and outbound shipments operations.
• Develop and maintain site SOPs for heavy equipment operations.
