Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator at JBLM, WA to operate and maintain material handling equipment and construction machinery in support of Army equipment turn-in operations.

Responsibilities include moving vehicles and materiel, loading/unloading, PMCS, and ensuring compliance with Army safety and contract requirements. The role requires safety focus and teamwork in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Familiarity with Army equipment turn-in or SSA operations desirable.
• Army safety and supply regulations knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• OSHA safety standards and product handling familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, loaders, cranes and other heavy equipment.
• Move vehicles, containers, and materiel between staging, inspection, and storage.
• Load/unload cargo in compliance with Army and DOT standards.
• Support mass turn-in events and processing of equipment.
• Perform PMCS and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Maintain logs, inspection records, and usage reports.
• Follow Army safety regs and company procedures.
• Assist in developing site SOPs for heavy equipment operations.
