Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator for Fort Riley, KS. The role involves operating and maintaining MHE and construction machinery to support Army equipment turn-in operations, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and asset accountability.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts, loaders, cranes, and RT cranes; loading/unloading cargo; PMCS on equipment; maintaining logs; and coordinating with Supply Technicians and drivers to move equipment efficiently.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; however, relevant work experience may substitute.
  • 2–4 years of heavy equipment operation experience (military or contractor).
  • Familiarity with Army equipment turn-in or SSA operations is desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain CAC background check.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, loaders, cranes, and rough-terrain vehicles.
  • Move vehicles and materiel between staging, inspection, and storage areas.
  • Load/unload trucks and containers in compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform PMCS before, during, and after use.
  • Maintain logs and reports and assist with audits.
  • Follow Army safety and company policies on all operations.
