Job summary

Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) seeks a Full-time Heavy Equipment Operator I/II for the H.E. Bailey Turnpike in Fletcher, OK. Duties include operating heavy machinery, performing maintenance, and assisting with roadway repairs during scheduled hours 7:30am–4:00pm.

Level I offers base duties with no prior experience; Level II requires 1 year of heavy equipment operation and a valid Class A CDL. CDL must be obtained within five months of appointment.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating heavy equipment for Level II.
• Must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• CDL required no later than five months from date of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operate power equipment and heavy machinery for highway maintenance.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair roadway shoulders, signs, guardrails, and fences as needed.
• Provide traffic control using stop/slow signs or flags.
• Apply herbicide to highway rights-of-way and remove debris.
