Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator at Antlers, OK. Level I and Level II positions offer different responsibilities and pay scales, with pre-employment checks and CDL requirements as described.

Selected candidates must meet the CDL requirements and be able to operate a range of heavy machinery, perform routine maintenance, and work flexible hours including on-call situations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the safe operation of heavy machinery.
• Ability to perform manual labor and operate power equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment such as trucks, tractors, graders, bulldozers, loaders, cranes and other equipment as needed.
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repairs roadway shoulders or bridge decks and replaces signs or guardrails as needed.
• Provides traffic control assistance using signs or flags.
• Removes debris and maintains rights-of-way.
