Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an operator of power construction equipment to excavate, move and grade material. The role requires operating a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment to support road and rights-of-way work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with some field experience.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and large heavy equipment while performing maintenance and road work on roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain all fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• Instruct and train employees in safe operation of construction equipment and job techniques and skills.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors, problems or defects.
