Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an experienced operator for construction sites focusing on excavating, moving and grading material with heavy equipment.

The role requires driving various vehicles, performing maintenance on roads/rights-of-way, and ensuring safe operation of equipment while coordinating with supervision. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and strong tool knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or several types of power construction equipment to excavate, move and/or grade material.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for installation of culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Instruct and train others in the safe operation of construction equipment and tools and in job techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
