Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to excavate, move and grade material on projects in Oklahoma. You will operate power construction equipment and perform routine maintenance to keep machines in top condition.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with previous field experience.
Strong working knowledge for the position.
Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively with management.
Proficient in the safe and efficient use of tools and layout/measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate vehicles and heavy equipment to excavate, move, and grade material on roads and rights-of-way.
Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads and spread rock/gravel.
Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
Check fluid levels and lubrication; perform routine maintenance on equipment.
Instruct and train employees in safe operation and job techniques and ensure compliance.
Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify defects and needs for repair.
Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, and resources needed for a task.
Review subordinate work for contract compliance and correct deficiencies.
