Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for Columbus, OH. Shift: 3:30pm - 5:30am, Monday-Friday, on-site. Responsibilities include operating bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, and more to support MSW and recycling operations.

Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment experience required, with inspections, maintenance, and safety training. Valid driver's license and ability to work flexible hours/ overtime may be needed. Competitive pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment such as an excavator, backhoe, dozer, and off-road truck.
• Must pass written and operational tests to certify operation of each equipment piece.
• Hazardous waste training may be required within six months of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently per regulations and company policies.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as lubrication and cleaning.
• Handle site preparation, earth moving, landscaping, and related tasks.
