Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations, performing loading, spreading, covering and compacting of waste or soil. You will inspect equipment before and after use, monitor waste quality, perform minor servicing, document reports, and ensure the shop is clean and safe at shift end.

This role requires two years of heavy equipment experience and OSHA-site familiarity.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment and ensure safety standards.
• Operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and maintain operational readiness of equipment.
• Perform and document minor servicing; refer major repairs to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and ensure the shop is clean and secure after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
