Job summary

Seaboard Marine in Houston seeks a forklift/yard operator to move containers and bulk cargo using 9K, 30K, and 52K forklifts, and Toploader/Empty Handler. The role requires safety-first execution, accurate loading, and collaboration with foremen in a fast-paced terminal.

Qualifications

• One year experience driving heavy equipment: mule jockey, tractor trailer, 52K forklift, Empty Handler or Toploader.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Must complete on-the-job training to operate other heavy equipment within the first year.
• Safely handle heavy cargo in high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Experience performing physical labor tasks.
• Must obtain Hazmat certification within 30 days of start date.
• Must obtain TWIC within 90 days of start date.
• Basic reading, writing and speaking English required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Able to think logically and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate yard truck and forklift to transport containers and cargo.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report defects.
• Maintain communication with Foreman to ensure correct loads and locations.
• Load/discharge cargo from yard trucks and equipment.
• Maintain clean, orderly, safe work areas at all times.
• Assist in bagging warehouse tasks when needed.
• Follow safety policies and participate in safety meetings.
