Job summary

SEABOARD MARINE in Houston seeks a heavy equipment operator to move containers and cargo across the terminal. The role involves operating yard trucks and forklifts, performing pre-shift checks, and maintaining a safe work area while coordinating with the foreman.

Qualified applicants read, write and speak basic English, have 1 year of equipment experience, and can obtain HAZMAT and TWIC within stated timeframes. Flexible hours and overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have one year experience operating heavy equipment such as mule jockey, tractor trailer, Empty Handler or Toploader.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to obtain HAZMAT certification within 30 days and TWIC within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Operate yard truck and forklifts to move containers and cargo within timeframes.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and report defects.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping in the work area.
• Communicate with foreman to move loads correctly and safely.
• May perform additional labor or stevedoring duties as needed.
