Job summary

The National Park Service is seeking an Engineering Equipment Operator to operate gasoline- or diesel-powered heavy equipment within park boundaries. You will use road graders, tractors with bulldozer excavator attachments, and related machinery to prepare and maintain park infrastructure on rugged terrain.

You will also perform pre-trip safety inspections, load and transport equipment to project sites, and assist with placing pipes, hydrants, and other large objects as part of utility and road

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy gasoline or diesel-powered engineering equipment.
• Ability to operate on mountainous or steep terrain to excavation, backfill, grade or level earth.
• Pre-trip safety inspections and routine maintenance are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy gasoline or diesel-powered equipment such as road graders, tractors with bulldozer excavators, on mountainous or steep terrain.
• Grade, ditch, plow, clear debris and brush, load and move equipment to and from project sites.
• Perform pre-trip safety inspections and support maintenance of engineering equipment.
