Job summary

Spaccamonti Excavating LLC is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support excavation, grading, and underground utility projects. You will operate excavators, loaders, backhoes, and other machinery, read blueprints and site plans, and maintain equipment daily to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires clear communication with crews and supervisors, strict adherence to OSHA and company safety standards, and accurate recordkeeping of work and equipment usage.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, dozers and compactors.
• Ability to read blueprints and site plans.
• Daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Strong communication with crews and supervisors.
• Adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to support excavation, pipe laying and grading.
• Cut and maintain grade according to project specifications.
• Lay water, sewer, storm drainage and other underground pipes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes.
• Perform soil compaction and quality checks to meet project requirements.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance and repairs.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety protocols at all times.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members and project managers to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage.

Ideal candidates must be able to interpret blueprints and site plans, inspect and maintain equipment daily, and ensure safe, efficient operations. Clear communication with crews and supervisors is essential, along with strict adherence to OSHA and company safety standards. Accurate recordkeeping and support for additional duties contribute to overall project success
