Job summary

Republic Services in the United States is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at recycling facilities, landfills or transfer stations for transferring, spreading, covering, loading and/or compacting waste or soil efficiently.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, operating equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer and front-end loader, and completing reports.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment pre- and post-operation to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate heavy equipment (forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader) per standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor equipment service and document reports; escalate repairs as needed.
