Job summary

APAC Mississippi, Inc. in Mississippi is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate dozers, track hoes, loaders, and haul trucks in our open pit mine operations. You will work as part of a team, following Foreman directions and safety procedures.

Candidates should have at least three years of equipment operation experience, be able to travel up to 80% and willing to work nights and weekends. OSHA/MSHA rules apply, and you’ll receive benefits and a comprehensive pay package.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical.
• I-9 immigration documentation.
• Professional and courteous attitude toward coworkers and the public.
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Able to work overtime.
• PPE must be worn per OSHA/MSHA.
• At least 18 years old.
• Up to 80% travel to various locations.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in pit and mining operations.
• Report any problems to your manager.
• Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and co-workers.
• Use hand signals and communications when working with others.
• Follow all OSHA/MSHA safety procedures and company policies.
• Assist Foreman with daily tasks and project expectations.
• Perform minor servicing and inspections; refer major problems to Foreman.
• Train less-experienced employees on operations and maintenance.
• Perform general labor duties as required.
