Veit is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, compressors, pumps, and other machinery on construction sites. The role includes excavation, earthwork, and structural tasks, with responsibilities for safety and equipment upkeep.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, OSHA 10, and the ability to work long shifts, weekends, and travel as needed. Training will cover safety procedures and site-specific operations.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification and safety training.
• Ability to read and interpret grade stakes/site plans.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment on site for earthmoving and grading.
• Follow OSHA safety procedures and report issues to supervisors.
• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on equipment; report defects.
• Assist in training entry-level employees in maintenance tasks.
• Identify underground utilities prior to excavation.
• Review trenching requirements with supervisors and ensure protections.
• Keep supervisors informed of actions affecting project execution.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
