Job summary

B&S Site Development in Manassas, VA is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to support large- parcel civil construction projects. Operators will handle bulldozers, excavators, loaders, rollers and trucks, prioritizing safety and timely site readiness.

Requirements include 1–2 years of construction experience, a GED/high school diploma, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of construction experience.
• GED/high school diploma or related work experience.
• Trade school or prior experience operating a variety heavy equipment a plus.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment/materials up to 50 pounds.
• Capacity to provide and follow direction.
• Sharp decision‑making skills, particularly when under pressure.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavators, loaders, backhoes, dozers, and other heavy equipment.
• Excavate trenches for utility installation with precision.
• Assist crews in storm, water, and sewer pipe installation.
• Follow site safety protocols at all times.
• Coordinate with coworkers to ensure project specifications are met.
• Inspect and fuel equipment prior to shifts.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs.
