Job summary

B&S Site Development LLC, a fast-growing civil construction leader, seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to run bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and more on site in Richmond, VA. You will help prepare work areas, excavate for utilities, and assist with pipe installation while complying with safety standards.

Qualified candidates typically have 1–2 years in construction, a HS diploma or GED, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of construction experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment safely.
• Excavate trenches for utilities (water, drainage, sewer).
• Assist crews with installing piping for drainage, water, and sewer."
• Comply with all project safety procedures and company rules.
• Operate heavy equipment to move, load, and place materials accurately.
• Prepare construction areas for activities and/or demolition.
• Load/unload rock, debris, earth, and other materials using heavy equipment.
• Communicate effectively with crew and supervisors to ensure project execution.
• Report injuries or incidents to the foreman and superintendent.
• Review daily schedules and determine the most efficient way to complete tasks.
• Inform foreman of repairs or improvements needed for equipment.
• Inspect equipment and fuel it before each shift.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
