Job summary

The City of Miami Springs is seeking a skilled equipment operator to perform duties across road and off-road machinery, including backhoes, loaders, and cranes. The regular schedule is five weekdays from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm, with potential night or weekend work after disasters.

Requirements include a high school diploma, two years of heavy equipment experience, a valid Florida Class B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement, and the ability to obtain a Florida Stormwater Inspector Certificate within six

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Documented two (2) years of experience in operation of heavy equipment (backhoe, front-end loader, crane, etc.).
• Valid Florida CDL Class B with Air Brake Endorsement or higher.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of equipment and trucks as required by the department.
• Conducts daily equipment/vehicle inspections of tires, hydraulics, fluids, and safety systems.
• Maintains and writes records such as inspections and daily logs.
• Interacts with residents in a courteous and professional manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
