South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to maintain and repair roadways. You will operate front-end loader, backhoe, excavator, motor grader and dump trucks, performing base repairs, pothole patching and drainage work.

Responsibilities include set‑up of work zones, flagging traffic, and assisting in emergencies or weather events. A valid Class A CDL is required within six months, with 1 year of related experience preferred; on‑call duties may require 24‑hour

Responsabilités

• Operates and maintains heavy equipment such as front-end loader, backhoe, excavator, motor grader.
• Performs maintenance tasks including clearing right-of-ways, drainage ditch grading, pothole patching, and curb/sidewalk work.
• Operates 5 and 10 yard dump trucks hauling concrete pipes, asphalt, dirt, and debris.
• Assists in setting up work zone traffic control and flags traffic to protect workers and public.
• May be required to work outside normal hours, including on-call 24 hours.
