Job summary

Staker Parson Companies, a CRH company, is seeking an APAC - Asphalt Plant Ground Person in Wichita, Kansas. This role supports heavy civil and highway construction projects, operating a range of heavy equipment and ensuring safety and quality on site.

You will read plans and GPS controls, perform inspections, coordinate with crews, and help maintain schedules. A high school diploma and equipment experience are preferred, with a CDL not required but a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of heavy equipment operating experience in road construction, heavy civil construction, excavation, or related fields.
• Experience operating one or more types of heavy construction equipment with proficiency.
• Experience around underground utilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently (graders, excavators, dozers, loaders, rollers, scrapers, backhoes, skid steers, haul trucks).
• Perform grading, excavation, earthmoving and roadway construction tasks.
• Read grade stakes, site plans, blueprints and GPS control systems.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete reports.
