Job summary

Staker Parson Companies, a CRH company, is hiring an Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently perform excavation, grading, material handling and roadway construction using a variety of heavy equipment. This hands-on role requires adherence to project specs, safety policies, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, experience with heavy machinery in construction or related industries, and a valid driver's license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous heavy equipment operating experience in construction, aggregates, paving, mining, or related industries preferred.
• Knowledge of safe equipment operating practices and job site safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand basic construction plans, grades, and work instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, motor graders, haul trucks, rollers, skid steers, and other construction equipment.
• Perform excavation, grading, backfilling, material placement, stockpiling, and site preparation activities.
• Load and transport materials safely and efficiently.
• Follow grade stakes, project plans, and supervisor instructions to meet project specifications.
• Conduct daily pre- and post-trip equipment inspections.
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and equipment servicing.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area around equipment and job sites.
• Work closely with supervisors, truck drivers, laborers, and other operators to achieve production goals.
• Follow all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
