Job summary

Staker Parson Companies, a CRH Company, seeks a skilled Equipment Operator to safely run asphalt paving equipment and contribute to quality workmanship. This role covers paving machines, screed, rollers, and related tasks on various sites.

You will work with a crew, follow safety procedures, train new crew members, and help prepare equipment for transport. A high school diploma or GED is preferred and heavy equipment experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous heavy equipment operation experience or training preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain asphalt paving equipment.
• Provide a quality product meeting thickness, compaction, smoothness and drainage standards.
• Supervise and coordinate crew activities and review production schedules.
• Inspect daily work for quality and proper drainage; joints tight.
• Clean up from day’s operations and ensure debris removal.
• Train and mentor new crew members; participate in 30-60-90 training.
• May perform physical tasks involved with laying pipe and utility lines.
• Prepare equipment for transportation and stage safely for movers.
• Work day and night shifts as necessary; maintain customer service focus.
• Treat others on site with respect and professionalism.
