Job summary

Peabody Energy’s North Antelope Rochelle Mine in Wright, Wyoming seeks a Mechanic to perform preventive and breakdown maintenance welding on heavy equipment in open-cut environments. The role is based at the NARM site and requires the ability to work in all weather and shifts.

Responsibilities include inspecting for hazards, diagnosing faults, estimating time and materials, raising material orders, and undertaking repairs or component changes.

Qualifications

• Experience with preventive and breakdown maintenance welding on heavy equipment.
• Ability to work in all weather and various shifts.
• Overtime as required by the Company.
• Ability to train others when required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work area and plant for hazards, damage and defects
• Examine drawings or specifications to determine work methods, sequence of activities or manufacture of components
• Diagnose faults or breakdowns
• Estimate time and materials required to complete jobs
• Raise orders for materials
• Undertake repairs or component changeouts as required
• Clean and maintain tools and work area
• Train other personnel or apprentices (if required)
• Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
• Other duties as assigned by the company
