Job summary

Peabody Energy is seeking a Drill Mechanic to join the Maintenance team at the North Antelope Rochelle Mine (NARM) in Wright, Wyoming. The role focuses on safe, efficient maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of drilling equipment used in surface mining operations to support production goals while complying with MSHA and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

Trade certificate preferred.
Experience maintaining drilling equipment.
Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.

Responsibilities

Visibly support and champion Peabody's Mission and Values.
Inspect work area for hazards, damage and defects.
Diagnose faults or breakdowns in drilling equipment.
Estimate time and materials to complete jobs.
Raise orders for materials.
Undertake repairs or component changes as required.
Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
Ability to operate oxygen/acetylene cutting torch and perform arc welding.
Ability to read and use low voltage electrical, air and hydraulic schematics in repairs.
Operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts, overhead shop cranes.
Rebuild air valves and adjust air system governors.
