Job summary

Freeport is seeking a skilled HEM Diagnostic Mechanic I to perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment including haul trucks, water trucks, dozers, loaders, and graders in a 24/7 operation.

You will train others, prioritize repairs, read blueprints and adhere to safety standards while contributing to a productive maintenance team. On-site employees receive housing allowance and comprehensive benefits in a structured work program.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts or related industrial repair/maintenance.
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written safety instructions in English.
• Ability to prioritize repairs and communicate effectively.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine systems.
• Ability to read and use blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment (haul trucks, water trucks, dozers, loaders, graders).
• Repair and install transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials and other heavy components.
• Conduct mechanical/lubrication preventative maintenance on hydraulic, power train and engines.
• Prioritize repairs and manage work orders; conduct inspections.
• Operate mobile equipment as needed and train/mentor others.
