Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan's Henderson mine and mill are seeking a skilled mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair underground mobile equipment under direct supervision. Work focuses on safety, efficiency, and reliability in a demanding mining environment.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in mining mobile equipment mechanical/maintenance or equivalent.
• Must demonstrate aptitude and pass required safety assessments.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and repair underground mobile equipment (loaders, haul trucks, graders, bobcats, skid steers, etc.).
• Perform component diagnostic, replacement and repairs across power trains, hydraulics, electrical systems, engines and frames.
• Conduct engine, transmission and powertrain replacements as needed.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on underground haul trucks and drills, including fluid changes and inspections.
• Welding and fabrication tasks (MIG, Stick, TIG) and frame repairs as required.
• Assist with emission testing and maintain work area housekeeping.
