Job summary

Knife River Corporation in the Portland, Oregon area is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a swing shift. The position covers maintenance and repair of construction and mining equipment, with hands-on diagnostics and basic welding.

Shift is 2:30PM–11:00PM, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility in hours and days. Qualified applicants will have experience with hydraulics, electrical, HVAC systems, undercarriage, engine, powertrain repairs and must be able to obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining construction equipment.
• Own hand tools required; company provides tooling.
• Clean driving record with CDL w/Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Swing Shift at our Shop in the Portland, Oregon area!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Maintenance and repair of construction and mining equipment
• Hydraulics, electrical, HVAC systems, undercarriage, engine, and powertrain repairs
• Basic welding ability
• Shop or field environment
• Ability to use diagnostic software
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties assigned
• Hours: 2:30PM – 11:00PM Monday to Friday, hours and days flexible
• Wage Range – $26.91 - $44.90

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous mechanical experience on construction equipment. Some truck repair experience preferred
• Must have own hand tools. Company provides large and specialty tooling
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional and drug screen
• Display a professional, safe, and courteous attitude
