Job summary

Knife River Corporation in the Portland, Oregon area is seeking a Truck Mechanic for a swing shift to support our road construction fleet. You will maintain and repair Class 8 and mixer trucks, diagnose issues, and ensure compliance with safety and DOT rules.

The position offers a full-time schedule with a 2:30PM–11:00PM shift, weekday work, and comprehensive benefits including Health Savings, 401K, and paid time off. Prioritize safety and professional conduct on every job site.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and mixer trucks.
• Must have own hand tools; company provides large and specialty tooling.
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional and drug screen.
• Display a professional, safe, and courteous attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of trucks used for construction including dump trucks, Redi-mix trucks, lowboy’s, straight trucks, trailers, etc.
• Brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC systems, body/chassis, engine, and powertrain repairs
• Shop or field environment
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and paperwork
• Ability to use diagnostic software
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties assigned
• Hours: 2:30PM – 11:00PM Monday to Friday, hours and days flexible
• Wage Range – $26.91 - $44.90
