Job summary

RPMGlobal Heavy Equipment Mechanic position on second shift. You will test and repair heavy machinery, inspect and diagnose defects, and ensure performance aligns with manufacturer specs.

Role requires training in mechanics or diesel or equivalent experience, willingness to travel to sites within a defined territory, and a strong emphasis on safety, quality and accuracy. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401k and more.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary or trade training in mechanics or diesel preferred, or 2 years of experience.
• Minimum of Class C Driver's License; Class A/B CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Able to collaborate and communicate across the business.

Responsibilities

• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair to ensure proper performance.
• Operate and inspect machines to diagnose defects.
• Diagnose faults using engine diagnostic equipment and calibration devices.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
• Examine parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Overhaul and test machines to ensure operating efficiency.
• Repair hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Assemble and align drive trains.
• Learn the ins and outs of roadway construction and paving.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic - 2nd Shift - What Will You Do?

• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
• Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment and keep equipment service records.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Repair and diagnose hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Assemble and align drive trains.
• Learn the ins and outs of roadway construction and paving.

Requirements - Who We Are Looking For?

• Post-secondary or Career and Technical Center training in mechanics or diesel preferred, or 2 years of experience in lieu of training.
• Minimum of Class C Driver's Licenses, Class A or B CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain at request of company)
