Job summary

New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Lemoyne, PA. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues with computer software, and conduct repairs on heavy equipment and trucks to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires 1 year of experience preferred, PA certifications, and adherence to safety policies. You will work in a shop environment with opportunities for professional growth in the Materials & Aggregate Industry in PA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1 year heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Must have PA forklift certification or obtain within 90 days.
• Must have 80 hours of third-party manufacturer training related to heavy equipment/diesel mechanics.
• Must have valid Class C driver’s license with Medical Card.
• PA Category 3 State Inspection License required for Truck Mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventive maintenance by changing oil, checking fluid levels, replacing filters and greasing moving machine parts on heavy equipment and/or trucks.
• Run diagnostic tests using computer software to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Follow maintenance checklists and complete work order documentation per department procedure.
• Repair, rebuild, or replace brakes, transmissions, clutches and suspension systems under direct supervision 50% of the time.
• Perform basic welding and torching as needed for repairs.
• Operate equipment after repairs to ensure the issue has been properly resolved.
• Read/comprehend technical manuals and computer schematics.
• Maintain and clean shop area and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and useable condition.
• Adhere to company work safety policies.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements - Who We Are Looking For?

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic is preferred.
• Must possess a current PA Forklift Certification or obtain certification within the 90-day introductory period through NESL’s certification program.
• Must have certified completion of 80 hours of third-party manufacturer-specific training related to heavy-duty equipment and/or diesel mechanics.
• Must have minimum of a valid standard Class C driver’s license with a Medical Card certification. Must be compliant with NESL Driving Standards.
• Truck Mechanics must have PA Category 3 State Inspection License.
