Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a traveling field maintenance role. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy equipment across multiple locations, including hydraulics, diesel engines, and related systems.

This is a full-time, shifting role with travel between local yards and occasional weekends as needed. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of heavy equipment repair experience, reads schematics, and can work independently while meeting safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy equipment repair and maintenance experience.
• Strong hydraulics, diesel engines, diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations.
• CMMS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment across multiple locations.
• Work on hydraulic systems, diesel engines, motors, air systems, and mechanical components.
• Service equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, material handlers, skid steers, and forklifts.
• Repair scrap processing equipment including shears, balers, shredders, and related machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete on-site repairs.
• Complete work orders, service reports, and maintenance logs.
• Follow company safety standards and OSHA requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance leadership, technicians, vendors, and parts suppliers.

We’re partnering with a leading recyclingcompany that is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support multiple industrial yard locations.

This is a strong fit for a hands-on mechanic who knows hydraulics, diesel engines, diagnostics, and heavy equipment repair. You’ll be part of a traveling maintenance team responsible for keeping equipment running safely, reducing downtime, and supporting day-to-day yard operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment across multiple locations
• Work on hydraulic systems, diesel engines, motors, air systems, and mechanical components
• Service equipment such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, material handlers, skid steers, and forklifts

What They’re Looking For

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations
