Job summary

Baranko Companies in Dickinson, ND is seeking a Heavy Equipment Lube Technician to lead the complete PM program for our heavy equipment fleet. You will monitor service intervals, coordinate availability, perform PM work, document results, and keep equipment field-ready.

Responsibilities include scheduling, oil/filter changes, inspections, minor repairs, documenting in HCSS E360, and maintaining tools and truck.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of PM, lubrication and basic repair.
• Ability to manage PM schedules and work orders in HCSS E360.
• Will provide own hand tools; company provides specialty tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete Heavy Equipment Preventive Maintenance Program by monitoring equipment hours and service intervals, coordinating equipment availability, and following up on upcoming, due, missed, and overdue PM services.
• Perform scheduled oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid checks, fluid sampling, seasonal services, and other preventive maintenance on heavy equipment in the shop and field.
• Complete a thorough inspection during every service and identify leaks, wear, damage, loose components, hose and belt conditions, undercarriage concerns, safety defects, and other developing repair needs.
• Complete authorized minor repairs within the technician's ability and promptly elevate safety concerns, major repairs, specialized work, or equipment that should be removed from service.
• Accurately document meter readings, labor, parts, fluids, filters, samples, inspection findings, repairs, and completed services in HCSS E360 before closing the work order.
• Maintain the assigned lube or service truck, including oils, filters, lubricants, spill supplies, common service parts, required records, and safe transportation and handling of regulated materials.
• Coordinate with operators, foremen, field supervision, parts personnel, and the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Lead while following company, jobsite, OSHA, DOT, contamination-control, spill-prevention, and environmental procedures.

Job description

The Heavy Equipment Lube Technician owns the complete Heavy Equipment Preventive Maintenance Program. This is a hands-on position responsible for monitoring service intervals, coordinating equipment availability, performing the PM work, completing inspections and fluid sampling, documenting results, and keeping Baranko's heavy equipment fleet properly serviced and field-ready.

The technician is accountable for the PM program from the initial service notification through completed work and documentation. This includes following up on missed or overdue services, identifying developing repair needs, maintaining the assigned lube truck and service supplies, and communicating equipment condition to the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with operators, foremen, field supervision, parts personnel, and the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Lead while following company, jobsite, OSHA, DOT, contamination-control, spill-prevention, and environmental procedures.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Heavy equipment PM services are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
• Upcoming, due, missed, and overdue services are actively tracked and followed through to completion.
• Developing equipment problems are identified, documented, and communicated before they cause larger failures.
• Fluid samples, filters, lubricants, parts, and service materials are handled and documented accurately.
• Work orders, meter readings, PM records, labor, parts, and inspection findings are complete and current in HCSS E360.
• The assigned lube truck, personal tools, service equipment, and inventory remain clean, organized, stocked, and ready for use.

REQUIREMENTS

• Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of heavy equipment preventive maintenance, lubrication, and basic repair.
• Must provide and maintain a complete set of personal hand tools and basic tooling necessary to perform the normal duties of the position; the company will provide specialty tools and equipment.
• Previous heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, truck, industrial maintenance, or lube-truck experience is preferred.
• A current Commercial Driver's License with the HazMat endorsement is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with HazMat endorsement within six months of hire is required.
• Ability to meet applicable DOT medical, testing, training, licensing, and driving-record requirements.
• Basic computer and mobile-device skills and the ability to manage PM schedules and work orders in HCSS E360.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and coordinate services with shop and field personnel.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach while working in wet, dirty, hot, cold, and changing shop and field conditions.
