Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Fueler/Oiler to service heavy equipment at our Deming site. The role involves fueling, greasing, monitoring fluid levels, and performing OEM-guided oil changes on machinery.

Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements, have2+ years of related experience, and pass a pre-employment drug screen. Extensive physical work and long hours are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsement.
• At least 2yrs of experience fueling and oiling heavy equipment.
• Daily fueling, greasing and fluid level checks on all job site equipment.
• Perform oil changes on equipment per OEM Guidelines.
• Complete all work orders and maintenance logs.
• Maintain Fuel/Lube truck to operate safely and efficiently.
• Uses a small assortment of hand tools and reads oil charts.
• Understands safety and occupational hazards of work.
• Keeps lube truck clean and well maintained.
• Must have a valid driver license and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Exert heavy physical effort; handle objects up to 25 pounds.
• Able to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.
• Rig and hoist material safely and efficiently.
• Work at heights and in extreme weather conditions.
• Prepare for long shifts; 50–70 hours per week.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance per ADA, FMLA and related standards.

Must possess competence in the following areas in order to perform this role in a safe, productive and effective manner:

• At least 2yrs of experience fueling and oiling heavy equipment.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsement.
• Daily fueling, greasing and fluid level checks on all job site equipment.
• Perform oil changes on equipment as per OEM Guidelines and as directed by the Equipment Superintendent.
• Complete all work orders associated with machine services and daily activities.
• Maintain Fuel/Lube truck to perform at peak operating level and ensure it meets all safety and compliance criteria.
• Utilizes small assortment of hand tools to complete tasks.
• Reads and follows oil chart.
• Understands safety and occupational hazards of work.
• Keeps lube truck clean and well maintained.
• Valid driver license and satisfactory driving record.

• Able to enter the cab of a vehicle or piece of equipment that is 3 feet or more off the ground.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet).
• Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
